This site is part of a UCD MLIS capstone thesis on Information Literacy, Policy and Practice in Ireland.
In collaboration with the Library Association of Ireland's Task Force on Information Literacy, the aim of this project is to build on the work done by the 2008 Working Group on Information Literacy, to provide a body on knowledge that is representative of the current state of IL in Ireland.
· To examine the practices and policies of other library organisations in other jurisdictions (i.e. Wales, Scotland, North America, England and Australia), who support IL at a national level, and to report on the ways in which they have been, and have not been successful;
· To re-visit the case studies and report on their current status in 2012 in order to see how IL practice has evolved over the past few years.
· To develop an updated range of sectoral reports, nationally and internationally, by gathering expert opinion to broaden the range of research on IL practice.
